Elliott Bay is the West Vancouver Yacht Club’s crown jewel. An ocean wonderland, Elliott Bay is a 40-acre Outstation located in Centre Bay, on Gambier Island, Howe Sound. It is located just 10 nautical miles from the Club's home base in West Vancouver and boasts nearly 2000 linear feet of dock space.
Through significant Member volunteer efforts, the facility has seen numerous enhancements over the years. The property now includes two separate barbecue areas, a 2500 square foot patio, a stove-heated cabin fully-equipped with library and ping-pong table, and a heated shower and bath. The property operates off solar power. On the docks, there are paddle-boards, sailing dinghies, and a swing allowing for "ocean play". There are also well-marked hiking trails with some amazing views, while an orchard and playground offer open play spaces for kids to enjoy.
Elliott Bay plays host to a number of the Club's biggest annual events, and Annual Canada Day and "Margarita" celebrations are legendary among Members!
In short, Elliott Bay is an easily accessible getaway. It is a place to play relax, where memories are created. It is a place that provides "kids" of all ages the opportunity to explore and recreate.
This outstation is maintained completely through the volunteer efforts and twice-yearly work parties embody the community-building vibe the Club was built on.

- Private Property Adjoining Club Outstations
The trails to/from the Clubs’ owned property traverse over many different private properties. They are not “public” or “maintained” trails and using them is a privilege, not a right. Members must maintain a polite and courteous interaction with our outstation neighbours. Should an owner express concern, members are expected to acknowledge and honour the concern. If requested to leave the private property, the member will politely comply.
- Amenities
Accessible from the wide docks are two barbecues (charcoal), a spit, composting heads, a heated shower and a stove-heated cabin for gatherings, games and activities. Hiking trails are well-marked and provide amazing views, while the orchard and playground offer open play spaces. Click to download PDF Trail Map.

In 1973 the Club bought its first outstation - Kendrick Island.
This gem rests 22 nautical miles from the club's home base, is about a mile long in length, an average of a quarter–mile wide, and lies at the eastern entrance to Gabriola Pass in the Gulf Islands. The Club owns the entire island and it remains completely undeveloped, except for mooring floats.
Club members respect the island's untouched, park-like state and are careful to retain its natural beauty. Kendrick is home to fantastic sandstone outcroppings, mature Arbutus trees, and wonderful annual displays of spring wild flowers. It is the perfect jumping-off point for cruising the Gulf Islands.
Kendrick boast 400 linear feet of moorage, along with four mooring balls, for those who like to "anchor out". For those who prefer to anchor, please note that it is reported that the surrounding area is poor holding ground.
