Updated March 4th, 2019: If you have been deleted and want to still be on the list just send your info to email@example.com
Name: Cheryl James
Experience Level: Just did Southern Straits 2019, and now available for Wednesday evenings, etc. I’m a British female , 36 years old, been racing weekly for the last 2 years in Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast. I crew a J24 in summer and Peterson 35 in the winter sometimes racing down as far as Thornanby/ Secret cove area and competed in the local Malaspina regatta the last 2 years. I also took part in last years Round Bowen race on a Seascape 27. I have RYA day skipper certification, VHF ROC and current First Aid and have a few months worth of experience crewing cruising vessels down south in the Eastern Carribbean. I have also recently started training with my local RCMSAR. Unfortunately i do not have much spinnaker experience having used a spinnaker only a handful of times....This is where I would really like to gain some more experience. Looking for a boat that is taking part for the experience and to have fun rather than to win at all costs as I do not feel my experience level quite matches up to that.

My name is Anouk Sanchez and I have recently moved to Vancouver from Revelstoke. Last year I spent six months sailing from Fiji to Greenland through the Northwest Passage on an 110ft. ketch called Infinty. It was my first big sailing experience but I learned so much! I am looking to continue my sailing learning experience and I am open to anything. I'll be happy to crew or help you out maintaining your boat. I can navigate, read weather forecast, navigation charts, ice chart, fix all sort of sail problems, rigging, marine engines maintenance, desalination systems, I spent hours swimming around the boat scrapping barnacles and algea, name it. If you are wondering, I am a female, 5'5", mid thirties, pretty fit and strong. Email me at email@example.com or call or text at 250-814-7635
In the past I have raced Southern Straits with Bravo Zulu, and with Equilibrium. Neither are entering this year, and I'll take any position on the right TEAM. This winter I raced Polar Bear and Snowflake with Dominatrix. Looking for a boat for Southern Straits, Swiftsure, and Van Isle!
Having moved to West Van in February (downsized from house to apartment) I am considering joining the Club and the best way to get to meet people is through the race program. I am an experienced cruiser/racer. In the 1980's 90's lived in Toronto and belonged to RVYC. Was crew member on Red Jacket and other boats out of RCYC - many positions, loved foredeck work. Owned CS 30,36 and 40 over 25 years. I have done coastal and offshore (celestial) navigation courses and a fair amount of scuba diving (have advanced certification).Cruised every year in Caribbean - a couple of blissful long journeys through the entire island chain. I do not own a sailboat now (small power boat for fishing) but cruise with Cooper Yachts charter every year for 3 weeks. Chartered catamarans in exotic locations (recently Fiji) - my mid term goal is to sail a catamaran through the South Pacific. Moved to BC in 2000's (Kelowna for 7 years) now live in West Vancouver. I am very fit with zero health problems, with the exception of self imposed sport injuries from time to time (Mt Biking).I am 62 years old, a real estate investor/developer and am engaged in a couple of projects in Vancouver. My wife Kathleen is also a very experienced and able sailor who loves to race. I have 2 adult sons who also live in Vancouver who both are able hands.Looking forward to hearing from you.Cheers
My name is Garry Bennett, I have recently moved to the area from Ontario. I have spent many years crewing on various full keel boats on Lake Ontario. I have been crewing on and off for over 20 years, with experience in everything from sail trim to foredeck. Most of my time was spent on Nelson Marek 30's and C&C 29. I am looking to introduce myself to the local sailing scene and am anxious to meet some new folks here in the Okanagan. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on the water.
My name is Lee-Ann Hollander. I belong to the LMYC and I'm hoping to get a chance to crew for the Southern Straits this year. Wayne Foulds, our Race Director, passed on your contact. I don't have a ton of racing experience. I've raced in the IYC series in Semiahmoo Bay, but I'm looking to step it up and get on to some bigger events. I'm a 49 year old teacher, (I also work for Coast Guard, part time). I'm fit, athletic, energetic and keen. I have my VHF Radio, Basic and Intermediate Cruise skipper, Nav. courses, Seamanship, First Aid, and I've signed up for the Safety at Sea seminar.
