Southern Straits 2015 will soon be upon us!

I am pleased to announce, Sonia Telford, Past WVYC Commodore and past Straits Chair, has agreed to take the helm of the 47th running of this West Vancouver Yacht Club classic. Sonia last chaired the Straits race in 2004 and has raced in it five times, with her husband Cam, on their Sceptre 36 AEOLUS. Sonia also chaired the 2009 Women’s Keelboat Nationals with great success. I look forward to working with Sonia as she takes Straits to the next level.

I would like to thank out- going Chair Ty Abrams for his outstanding work over the last four years. Ty has brought the number of entries up to levels not seen in a few years and has worked hard to ensure the international status by convincing the US boats to come up to race. I’m not sure if it was the race or the hot tubs! Well done Ty!
